District 163 will be in session Today, January 23rd. Busses will be proceeding slow and steady and we ask that staff who are driving to work do the same. We understand that staff who are driving a distance may arrive later than usual and ask that those staff members who reside closer to schools assist administrators with students until all staff arrive. Safety is your first priority so please drive slowly.

E-Learning Day

Dear Families,
We hope this message finds you well and staying warm. We are writing to inform you about an important decision regarding the upcoming school day.
Due to the extreme weather conditions forecasted for Tuesday, January 16th, with an expected wind chill reaching nearly 30 degrees below zero, we have decided to implement an at-home E-Learning Day for students. The E-Learning Day will begin at 9AM. Students should login at 9AM to Google Classroom on their electronic devices and then join Google Meets and participate in teacher led activities. If you need step-by-step directions on how to login, please visit the Emergency Procedures section under the scrolling pictures on our website www.sd163.com
Because an early dismissal was previously scheduled on this day, all students will be dismissed at 12:30 pm. Staff will be involved with completing student records in preparation of the upcoming distribution of report cards on January 26th.

Hello, This is a reminder from School District 163 that Tuesday. January 16th is an early dismissal day. Students will be served lunch and dismissed at 12:30 p.m. Pre-Kindergarten will be dismissed at 10:45 a.m. All bus riders will depart at 12:30 p.m. There will be no afternoon Pre-Kindergarten classes or X-STEAM.

Hello SD 163 Families! This is a reminder there is no school on Monday, January 15th observing Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. School will resume Tuesday, January 16th, which is a 12:30 early release day.

Good morning District 163 families. Due to worsening weather conditions we are enacting a snow day today for all District 163 schools. All schools are closed. We will continue to monitor the weather conditions for next week and will send out further communication on Monday. Stay safe and warm!

Attention District 163 Families!
When decisions regarding weather-related emergencies are made, the school superintendents in surrounding districts collaborate. Based on that collaboration, there was a collective agreement that the best place for our students is within our schools. Therefore, we will remain open tomorrow during the day. All students (K-8) should return to school with their Chromebooks and chargers. Please be aware that all after-school activities and programs have been canceled for Friday, January 12, 2024. As always, we know that you also will monitor the weather and make a decision that is in your family's best interest.

Hello SD 163 Community. Please see the flyer for our Policy Committee Meeting on Wednesday, January 17, 2024.

Our after-school X-STEAM students are back at it! They are right back to working hard on their reading and math skills!
