District 163 School Closure Information Updated April 18, 2020
Governor Pritzker has announced that all Illinois public schools will be closed through the end of the 2019-20 school year due to the COVID19 health crisis. While this saddens us that we are unable to resume face to face learning, our hope is that the health and wellness of our community will benefit by everyone staying home and social distancing.
We will continue to provide education through remote learning materials, Curbside Grab and Go meals ensuring that nutritional needs are met, and ongoing communication with families to share information. Principals, teachers and school staff will connect with families via online platforms, email and/or phone to support needs, provide feedback and log daily attendance.
Students may access remote learning materials two ways:
1. Digital remote learning electronic messages from the teacher by 9:30 a.m. daily
2. Non-digital remote learning paper packets may be picked up at any of our six schools for any grade level at the Curbside Meals Grab and Go stations between 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. Please practice social distancing in accordance with the Governor’s Executive Order and Center for Disease Control recommendations when picking up meals and materials.
The Governor’s announcement impacts our end of year events. Communications will be shared soon with information related to spring registration, graduation activities and other important end of the year events. Thank you for your patience as we plan. We miss you and look forward to our return to school! Stay well!
