Welcome to the 2019-2020 School Year!

Dear Blackhawk Primary Center Families,

I am very excited to welcome you to the 2019-2020 school year here at Blackhawk Primary Center. Our staff is looking forward to another great school year as we build upon our past learning experiences and discover the new learning opportunities that lie ahead.

At Blackhawk, we are committed to preparing students to be successful for life. We believe that the learning needs of the students must come first. Classroom instruction must be engaging and differentiated to meet the many learning styles within a given classroom. As a school community, we believe that all students can learn and experience academic success. Our staff is committed to providing authentic learning experiences that support modern learning rooted in reading, writing, and math. Blackhawk Primary Center is a safe learning environment that promotes creativity, collaboration, communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, and reflection. The skills mentioned above are paramount when preparing students to be successful members of a diverse global society.

As I enter my first year as principal at Blackhawk Primary Center, I look forward to working with the students, parents, and staff to build a strong academic and social-emotional culture that fosters student growth and learning. I believe that building these relationships between home and school is a key factor in increasing student achievement. As principal, my door is always open and I welcome your input. I strongly believe that parental involvement is an essential component of student success, as research continues to show a strong correlation between increased involvement and high student success.

I am excited to embark on this journey as a servant leader to the families of Park Forest/Chicago Heights.  If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at your convenience.  I can be reached at 708-668-9501 or fanderson@sd163.com.

Sincerely,

Dr. Felix Anderson, Principal
