School Board Vacancy

The Board of Education of Park Forest-Chicago Heights School District #163 currently seeks applicants to fill a vacancy existing from the resignation of a Board Member.

The individual selected will serve on the School Board from the date of appointment through the April 2021 General Election.

Applicants must be a United States citizen, be at least 18 years of age, a resident of Illinois and Park Forest-Chicago Heights School District #163 for at least one (1) year preceding the appointment, be a registered voter, not be a child sex offender, not hold another incompatible public office, not have a prohibited interest in any contract with the District, not be a school trustee, and not hold certain types of prohibited state or federal employment.

Applicants should show familiarity with the Board’s policies regarding general duties and responsibilities of a Board and a Board Member, including fiduciary responsibilities, conflict of interest, ethics and gift ban.

The Board’s policies are available at sd163.com. The Board of Education will review all applications and make a selection.

Interested applicants should submit a letter of application/interest and resume to Dr. Caletha White, Superintendent at 242 South Orchard Drive, Park Forest, Illinois 60466 by Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at 4:00 pm.  

 

Candidates will be contacted to schedule an interview with the Board of Education during the Board of Education meeting on May 20, 2019.
