Principal's Letter

Welcome to the 2020-2021 School Year!

August 13, 2020

Dear Blackhawk Families,

On behalf of the entire staff, we would like to welcome you to the 2020-2021 school year. I am honored and proud to be the principal of such a prestigious school, Blackhawk Primary Center. We would like to reaffirm our commitment to engaging, supporting, and challenging our students during this academic school year.

As we enter a new and exciting school year, we are committed and dedicated to facing barriers and obstacles together as a family. We have been working diligently all summer to plan for a safe opening of school and to ensure we implement best practices to mitigate the risks associated with Covid-19. Our classrooms and hallways have been modified to increase social distancing, signage has been installed throughout the building to guide students and staff appropriately. I know here at Blackhawk Primary Center we will continue to, “Soar to new heights”, as we embark on offering all students a robust and challenging curriculum.

Blackhawk Primary Center believes in a focus of collaboration, purpose, and creating everlasting relationships with all stakeholders. We are confident in our students. We continue to focus on establishing a positive learning environment that supports all students and families by working collaboratively to meet District goals and state mandates, all while offering daily social-emotional supports to meet all student needs.

Our students are kind, compassionate, and inquisitive. Together with our dedicated staff, we strive to partner with parents to support any needs or accommodations necessary for the success of our future scholars. We appreciate your support as you work with your student(s) at home to practice safety protocols and support online instruction. You can assist your child by:

  • Reviewing the eLearning guidelines and learning requirements/procedures
  • Ensure student participation by logging in daily to complete remote assignments and activities
  • Monitor Schoology for up to date information on your child’s academic progress each day
  • Visit the school website and participate in school virtual events found on Blackhawk’s main page
  • Join our PTO, you are very important to our success. Please join our parent team.
