Welcome to the 2020-2021 School Year

It is with great enthusiasm that I welcome you all to the 2020- 2021 school year here at 21st Century Primary Center. Last year, I was afforded the opportunity to influence the day to day operations of 21st Century while supporting students, staff and parents in my role as Instructional Coach. As the newly appointed Principal I look forward to leading our school as we re-imagine our purpose, our practice, and our passion. I am a change agent that has served in the Field of Education for over twenty years. I work to influence and reform educational systems that have not yielded the academic success our students deserve. I know that my experiences have prepared me for such an unprecedented time in education. I plan to positively impact student learning while building teacher capacity. I am a Transformational Leader, that seeks to improve the motivation, morale and performance of others through making connections, leading by example, and challenging the status quo. I am self-directed and I seek continuous improvement to better support all stakeholders involved in the learning environment. I am a visible leader that conducts daily check-ins with staff and students to build strong relationships that impact our students’ academic and emotional growth. I enjoy engaging with staff and students while providing instructional support that promotes student mastery. My supportive nature allows me to cultivate relationships of trust, respect, and collaboration.

I am fortunate to work among some of the best and brightest educational professionals in District 163. While we are all talented individually our strengths are demonstrated as we work collaboratively. My staff and I are committed to personal growth and will continue to grow together through book studies, professional development sessions and structured conversations that are centered around our students. My teaching staff is self-reflective and provide engaging, rigorous, differentiated instruction based on the needs of our students. However, we are not an “all work and no play” staff. We make time to recognize and celebrate our students’ success and progress on a regular basis. Although this year may seem challenging, we are all in this together. If I can be of assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me, here at 21st Century School, where we come to learn.
