Welcome to the 2019-2020 School Year
2019-2020, A year of Excellence!
On behalf of the entire 21st Century Staff, we would like to welcome all of our new and returning students to begin “A Year of Excellence”! Allow me to introduce myself! My name is Dr. Muench and I will be the principal for the 2019-2020 school year! For those of you who have not met me, I have been in the field of education for 32 years. I have been a part of SD 163 for the last 17 years having held many roles of educational responsibilities during that time. In conjunction with leading 21st Century this school year as the Principal I will also have the pleasure of again being the Director of Performing Arts for the school district.
As your principal, I look forward each day to strengthening relationships with all of our wonderful students, families, teachers, and talented staff. My goal is to meet with each and every parent/guardian, so we can partner on a journey to continue setting a path of excellence for our students. My staff and I embark on this journey with a pledge to you, students and parents, that we are committed to helping all children develop their intellectual capacity, academic skills and social competence, so that each student is prepared to effectively meet the demands of an ever changing 21st Century school. Beyond the rigors of our academic program, it is our aim to instill within each student the essential principles of pride, respect, and responsibility so that they will become productive and contributing members of our school community. Our goal is to maintain a safe and nurturing student-centered community that fosters respect for individual differences.
If you have not visited our school, please take the time to come by, so you can see that our school is a place alive with energy, enthusiasm, and a high standard of excellence! This promises to be a year filled with opportunities for all of our students as we strive to find opportunities to enrich our students young developing minds! In order to accomplish this goal, I anticipate that both parents and teachers will collaborate to establish high expectations for all students; this may mean that parents and teachers will work together to hold students accountable for meeting their goals, which have been established by our qualified and dedicated staff. In addition, we will strive to make the learning process a positive and rewarding experience while maintaining a desire to develop a generation of inquisitive young people who will become lifelong students in their various pursuits of excellence.
Please know that we highly value home/school communication here at 21st Century. It is vital and plays an integral role in each student’s success. We encourage you to contact us if/when the need arises, and to explore the school district website that has a link to 21st Century; PLEASE stay updated on your child’s progress about their studies, assignments, assessments, and school activities, as well as other events and happenings. If you have not had an opportunity to meet with the me, please schedule an appointment, so we can discuss your child’s academic goals for this year.
I look forward to doing “Whatever it Takes” to support the student and teacher’s efforts and encourage you to become a member of the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO). Volunteering and participating at various events throughout the school year will also benefit not only your child, but all of the children of at 21st Century.
Please know that I am always available to discuss any questions or concerns related to serving you and the children.
This will be a fantastic “Year of Excellence!
