Principal's Letter

  • 21
    Dear 21st Century Families,
It is with great excitement and pride that I write this letter of introduction as your new Principal of 21st Century Preparatory School. I cannot explain the joy I am feeling to be back at 21st Century. I have been a member of the District 163 team since August of 2001. I started my career in District 163 at Beacon Hill School teaching first Grade and transitioned to 21stCentury School as a second grade teacher. In 2008, I moved to Algonquin Primary School as a Reading Specialist. At each of those schools, I was successful in teaching a variety of students with many different educational and emotional needs. The experience in the classroom is one I continue to cherish as watching students learn and grow is both a joyful and rewarding experience. Since, 2010, I have been in a leadership role, working alongside administrators in the district. As I transition back to 21st Century, I am elated to bring my teaching skills and knowledge of the elementary mind along with my new leadership skills and knowledge of Reading. My experience alongside administrators will allow me to assist the teachers, as well as partner with you to ensure our students are prepared for the demands of the new Common Core state standards.
Along with the phenomenal staff, I am dedicated to continuing the successes here at 21st Century and to building strong relationships with teachers, staff, students, parents, and community members. We will continue our focus of providing a safe and nurturing environment, and increasing student achievement through a strong common core curriculum. Our base of success will be built upon instructional strategies that maintain high expectations, and nurture not just student academics, but the emotional needs of our students. Finally, we will take the time to enjoy each and every student in the building as, at the end of the day, it is our students that we all work so hard for.
I look forward to a successful year and I partner with you to support the academic, social, and emotional needs of our students. It will be due to our unity and strong communication that we continue to advance our students.
Your input is very much appreciated and welcomed. I look forward to meeting each of you, as well as getting to know all my 21st Century students. Please feel free to contact me to discuss any concerns, suggestions, or ideas to help make this the best year yet!

    Yours Truly,
    Mrs. Chrishawn Chinn
