The Board of
Education is elected to establish school district policies and provide a
quality education for all children in Park Forest-Chicago Heights School District
163. Board of Education business meetings generally meet on the 1st
and 3rd Mondays of the month. Meetings are held at the District
office in the boardroom.

1.
To build effective and efficient
systems and teams at the District and school level.
2.
To improve student performance and
academic achievement in reading, writing, and mathematics at all grade
levels to meet ISBE targets and adequate yearly progress.
3.
To improve school climate measured by
improved student behavior, student-centered school/classrooms, increased
parent involvement, increased student attendance and well maintained
school facilities at all district schools.
4.
To restructure programs and systems
for schools on the early academic warning list in conjunction with ISBE
regulations for school improvement to be measured by improvement in test
scores.
5.
To improve internal and external
communication within the school district and the community measured by
both quantity and quality of communications.
6.
To further develop and implement a
comprehensive gifted/talented program that enhances learning
opportunities for students with intellectual and/or specific academic
talent.
7.
To restore District finances and
execute a balanced budget through aggressive recruitment of potential
financial and other resources while overseeing conservative and fiscally
responsible spending.
8.
To increase student systems of support
that address social-emotional growth and development through increased
use in behavior modification and other positive intervention initiatives.
9.
To establish and maintain equitable
program services across the District at all schools.

Park Forest School District
163 believes all children can learn and is committed to meeting the needs
