Dear Visitor,

Welcome to Mohawk Intermediate School – serving grades 3, 4 and 5! Our school is dedicated to the academic and social needs of all students. Our innovative and creative staff believes all students can achieve and accepts the responsibility for identifying the keys to assure each child’s’ personal best. Our combination of curriculum and technology has provided progressive educational opportunities for our students.

Mohawk staff, students and families are happy to report significant educational strides. The efforts of our Mohawk family have placed our scores well above the minimum state standards as required by the state of Illinois and reflected on the Illinois Standards Achievement Test (ISAT). In the fall of 2004, Mohawk School was identified in the top ten of most improved schools in Cook County.

This year we are pleased to announce our selection by Governor’s State University as a lab school for elementary education majors. These future teachers have been assigned to each classroom in the building and will be working with our teachers to further the success of our students. We are excited about our partnership with Governor’s State University and look forward to their enthusiastic contributions.

Our parents are an important component of our student’s success. Without their support and cooperation we could not experience the academic growth we strive to achieve. Therefore, our doors are always open for classroom and school visits to address any concerns or suggestions.
